Volunteering is giving your time freely to help and support us, during which you will gain many experiences, including in the workplace environment.
I’m not sure how much time I can spare each week
We know people have varying commitments which mean that they can give more or less time from week to week. You’ll be able to discuss this when we meet.
Do I need to have experience or qualifications to volunteer?
No, just a willingness to help but as part of your personal development you will have access and opportunities to gain new qualifications, if that is what you want.
Do you reimburse expenses?
Many organisations will reimburse you for out of pocket expenses such as travel, or the cost of a meal if you are volunteering for a certain amount of time.
Where are you based?
The Volunteer Centre is on Abingdon Street near Blackpool Central Library.
What kind of things can I do?
There are hundreds of volunteering opportunities available to suit a variety of interests. You can volunteer in retail, in community kitchens, outdoors, with children and many more areas.
What are the hours?
These are flexible to suit your needs, again we can discuss this when we meet.
Can I still claim my benefits?
Yes, your benefits shouldn’t be affected by volunteering, but it is best to discuss this with your benefit provider
